PARTICLE & MATERIAL ANALYSIS:
Particle Size Analyzer
A particle size analyzer is a device used to determine the size and distribution of particles in a sample, usually based on light scattering techniques.
Particle Size Analyzer
Laser Diffraction
A laser beam passes through a dispersed sample. Small particles scatter light at large angles, while large particles scatter light at small angles. Detectors record this scattering pattern to calculate particle size.
Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS):
Used for nanoparticles, this measures fluctuations in scattered light intensity caused by the Brownian motion of particles in a liquid.
Specifications:
- Typically: 0.01 µm to 3000 µm (Dynamic Light Scattering)
- Nano instruments (DLS): ~0.3 nm to 10 µm
- Laser Diffraction method: 0.01 µm to 5000 µm
- Accuracy: Around ±0.6% to ±1%
- Repeatability: Typically, ±0.1% to ±0.5% RSD
- Sample dispersion: Water and Dry dispersion
- Measurement time: 10-20 seconds
